Robot Love

So while at work today it was pretty slow. I made this little robot drawing. I was inspired by Rosie from the Jetsons. Thinking of making it into either a paint or a small lino print.

Nesting Doll

I painted this nesting doll as a thank you to my uncle for doing a huge favor for me. It's an image I've been wanting to make for a while. Maybe one day it will turn into a print.

Litho Progression

After I finished my etching series I wanted to see if I could apply  the same concept of using one plate to create a series of prints to lithography. I used one stone to create 3 different plates. I began with the first image, then to create the other images I would use contact paper to cover the parts I wanted to keep and then an acid solution to clean the image away. Using lithography I was not able to see the history of the images as much as in the etching, but I still greatly enjoyed the outcomes.

Senior Prints

So it's been a while since I last posted on my blog. Since I graduated I haven't really produced any new work, and I also realized that I hadn't posted any of my senior prints. During my senior year I focused a lot on using a single medium and altering it each time to make a new print. I worked with a single zinc plate to create this series of prints. For each print I would try to erase the previous image and then create a new image. I learned that with the zinc plate I could never fully get rid of the previous image it. With the final print in the series you can see the history of the plate and everything that it had been through. The series began with an image of my Grandma when she was about 4 years old and transformed into the skeletons of dinosaurs, there is a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Velociraptor claw, a Brachiosaurus, and the wing or a Pterodactyl. In the future I would like to add more prints to this series.

Collagraph and Plasti-board Experiment

So I was roaming around my computer and thought I should put some new stuff up. These images were done in one of my classes that utilized the use of the computer with printmaking. We did a lot of experimenting with new materials. These images were created using collagraphs and plasti-board, and using CMYK colors. I love the way the colors on the second print look in person, they are so vibrant. The last two images were a collaboration with Rachel Smith. The combination of our plates and stencils created some interesting images.
